How to start thinking positive

Have you ever came across a person who always seems to be happy and positive? I’m sure you have! I have spent years listening to others and think, ‘how can they be so positive and happy’?

Heres a few tips:

  • Keep notice of your thinking patterns – especially those ‘what ifs’
  • Keep track of how your feeling through out the day – keep a diary if it helps, that way you’ll be able to see a pattern after a few weeks.
  • Get Enough Sleep – A good nights sleep can help dramatically
  • Eat Healthy – eating a well balanced meal will make you feel better
  • Get exercise – No, no one is asking you to join the gym, walking is beneficial too
  • Get talking – Talking about on different subjects
  • Make a ‘mental health stop sign’
  • Make a ‘Wellness Tool Box’

The list goes on and on. Its down to preference. In order to keep up the positive thinking is like anything else. You need work on it, it won’t happen over night, but with time and practice, you will become better at it. And remember, just because your having a bad day, don’t start to think that it isn’t working, this is many ways to put positive thinking into practice. After a while, you should start to thinking positive. Everybody has days where they think negative, but its the way we express it that matters.

Its never to late to chase your dreams

Have you ever dreamt of doing something then went of to persue your dream and then someone knocked you back and told you that they think it ‘might be too hard for you’ or ‘it might cause you stress and you might become very sick’? Of course, this happened to me in the past, it was time for me to move on from it so I could focus on the person I am today.

It was kind of a blessing if you think about it! If I wasn’t told to ‘not do that course because it may make you very stressed and make you sick’, I would not have had ‘anger issues’ that would have led me to get a diagnoses of Aspergers Syndrome.

Even though you may not see it at the time, it will all work out at the end. I didn’t give up on my ‘dream job’, I just chose not to make a career out of it. Maybe that person many years ago was just looking out for me at the end of the day. I did feel angry, but accepting the past for what it is now is a dream.

I all ways wanted to be the once, happy bubbly young girl I once was, and now that I am that person again, thats all that matters.

I suppose the moral of this is to go with the flow. You can’t just rock the boat, you’ve to take it all the way even with the bumps in the road! There were plenty of bumps and pot holes for me to become the person I am today, and I am proud of myself for getting myself through that time of my life.

My Birthday and Covid – 19 Injection

Hello there!

It was my birthday last weekend! It was my 2nd birthday during the pandemic so it meant that I couldn’t do anything for it. Even though I didn’t do anything, I still had fun with my family, I also had a bouncy castle for my nephew. A few days before my birthday, I fell down the stairs quite hard and injured myself. That didn’t stop me from having bouncing fun on the bouncy castle though! I have a nasty bruise but its going.

My injection for Covid – 19 with my centre didn’t go ahead due to the astra zenica ordeal. I was disappointed at the time, but at the end of the day your health is your wealth. I wasn’t going to cry over spilled milk so I just moved on from it. On the day of my birthday, my doctor rang not only my dad for his injection, but he also called me for my injection. It was late in on a Saturday evening so I was surprised but grateful that he rang me. That was a nice surprise, one that I wasn’t expecting to say the least! I had hardly any reactions at all. The one thing that I had was tiredness and a sore arm to the touch. I’ll be getting my second injection in the middle of May and I’m so looking forward to it.

What have I been up to for the last few months!

Hi there! No time no type, lol!

It seems forever since the last time I blogged. So I thought why not come on and start blogging about what I have been up to over the last 3 months or so! Lets start from the beginning!

Over the last year, there has been talks about my centre moving buildings, but no one knew when. It was near March or the end of February when we moved. While the staff packed everything up from the old building and moving it to the other building, we were giving the two weeks off. I cannot tell you how big of a difference the new building is. And its quite easy to get to aswell. I only need to get one bus and there you go!

Last Wednesday, I was minding my own business in my bedroom, when I heard something outside the window. I was thinking “What the heck is that?” Then I heard again and I checked outside my window and seen this faint image of a kitten (it was dark and it was hard to see) It was walking on my neighbours wall and I thought Id just let it do its business. Then I heard it again, only this time it was louder, so I knew it was outside my bedroom window!

So I got up out of my seat, looked out my window, and there was the kitten outside my window on the extension. So I thought I’d open the window carefully and let the kitten in. By looking at it, it looked to be well fed and taken good care of. I had to put it back out as I have two dogs. The following day, the kitten returned, so I bought the kitten to the vet to see if it had a microchip but sadly it didn’t! I thought that I’d post her on my Facebook page and on other Facebook lost and found pages. Sadly again nobody turned up.

I had no other option but to let the cat stay in my bedroom for the night. My sister then said to me that she got in touch with an animal Foster Care charity, and they got in touch with a girl who fosters kittens. So, after 2 days, we finally gotten somewhere for the kitten to go. I’ll be missing the cat, but I know its somewhere where it can be taken care of properly.

The last and final thing I want to say is that I am going to get the Covid – 19 vaccine soon. My centre only told me this week that I’ll be getting it in the next few days. I’m looking forward to it.

Interesting facts about January

We all know that January is the first month of the year, and there is 31 days in it. We also know it to be a “Dry Month” when it comes to alcohol.

You may or may not have known that January has other things that its known for!!! They are

  • It is named after the two – faced Roman God Janus
The month is named after the Roman God of Doors, because this is the door entering the new year. Janus is also called the “Two Faced God” He represents all things all beginnings and possesses the ability to see the past and the future.
  • History of January
The months January and February did not feature in the earlier versions of the ancient Roman calendar, which divided the year into 10 months, and left 61 days unaccounted for in the winter. They were added around 700 BCE. Originally, January and February were the last months of the calendar year. March was the first month of the year.
  • Wolf Moon
The full moon in January is called Wolf Moon, after howling wolves. The name is thought to have come from the Anglo – Saxton lunar Calendar. Other names are “Moon After Yule”, “Old Moon”, “Snow Moon” and “Ice Moon”, although, the last one is typically used for February.
  • Birth Flower and Stone
January’s birth flowers are carnations  (Dianthus caryophyllus) and snowdrops (Galanthus). The birthstone for January is the garnet, which symbolizes constancy

Its a complicated world

**trigger warning talking about coronavirus**

This post is not one of those positive posts, but rather than a little bit virus related.

Life as we knew it changed dramatically since the virus started. Before, there was holidays, birthday celebrations, Christmas and NYE parties. We were allowed to visit loved ones and travel outside our own counties. There were social gatherings on a daily basis.

I feel like all of this has been taken away from us with a blink of an eye. I spent the best part of 6 years to get where I am today. Being able to travel on the bus into town by myself didn’t come easy. I achieved that with the help of the centre that I am attending. Not being able to go there for 4 months or more was upsetting.

I did get to video call the person in charge there, and that helped greatly. I went walking by myself to help with the stress. I also done a lot of colouring. With all three put into place, I managed to get my stress levels under control, and they’ve been under control ever since. I knew I had to focus on myself to be able to start posting here again.

If your struggling with the coronavirus pandemic, please reach out and know that your not alone. Take small steps at a time. Thats what I done when I decided to ring my centre.

Having trouble sleeping?

We’ve all been there!!! Tossing and turning, not being able to go to sleep. I myself used to wake up every night for my phone.. This is the worst thing anyone can do at night while going to sleep. Its true that if you go to bed at night and your bedroom light is off and your looking at your phone, your not giving your brain a chance to relax. “Our brains can’t tell the difference between natural light and the kind of light we use on our phones” someone once said to me.

This is true for me, because when I used to wake up during the night for my phone, I would spend a good half an hour or more on my phone playing games or looking on facebook etc. I decided to challenge myself by putting my phone in another room. Some nights its easy, other nights it can be a struggle, but I get there in the end. My main worry was that my alarm would go off and I wouldn’t hear it. That worry is no longer a worry because my body is used to wakening up at a certain time.

***Some of the things I done to get a better nights sleep***

**Made myself a challenge of putting my phone into another room**

**Got into a regular bedtime routine
**

**Colour before going to sleep while listening to meditation
**

**Stress less, sleep more
**

**If you can’t sleep, go into a dark room and only go back to bed when you feel tired enough to sleep
**

**If none of the above work, contact your doctor

Looking after your health at Christmas part 2

Christmas is a wonderful time of the year with lots of exciting times happening around the world. But for some people, Christmas can be a stressful time. This is why Ive decided I wanted to create suggestions that people might find it easier to cope. Here you’ll find the previous post!

  • Make smart food choices
Making the right food choices will not only help you sleep better, but it will also boost your mood
  • Stay hydrated
Have you ever noticed sometimes you may feel hungry after just eating something? Sometimes we crave food when we are actually thirsty, so stock up on that water and drink 8 glasses of it a day!!!
  • Get a good nights sleep
Nighty night zZzZzZ…… nah just kidding!!! Its recommended that adults get around 8 hours of sleep each night.
  • Don’t wait until January to come around
Life is not a straight line, so if you had a little bump, thats ok! Get back up on that horse and try again. As the saying goes if you fall 7 times always get up on the 8!!!
  • Think outside the gym
If you like using the treadmill but the nearest gym is miles away, then you need to become creative. Body squats, jogging on the spot and using a skipping rope are only a few ideas.
